In 2022 the NIST published the first 4 quantum resistant Algorithms.
and in Aug 2023 announced 3 of these are expected to be ready in 2024
With z/OS 2.5 and now z/OS 3.1 IBM docs on ICSF discuss support for "Quantum Safe" Algorithms.
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/zos/3.1.0?topic=management-quantum-safe-cryptography
In a recent IBM z/DAY presentation the ""Harvest now, decrypt Later" threat was brought up where it stated "Schemes are underway to Collect data now for decryption when Quantum Computers are powerful enough to decrypt the information (Data can be exfiltrated)"..
Q1) Is AEZ going to exploit these newer algorithms as an option, now that IBM has made them available (or rather wait until the NIST announces them as ready in 2024 as the NIST article indicates) ?
Hi Neil,
thanks for your request.
My answer needs some investigation and may not be as quick as your name may sound.
Cheers,
Jürgen
P.S. If I am not completely wrong you've been a colleague back in the late 90's, when we developed Bolero.
I think I heard your name somewhere in the context of either XBridge/ESB or Long Transactions?!?
