An INCREASE of an ADABAS DB can be done using several size type (cylinders, tracks, etc.).
But a DECREASE can only be done using blocks.
This causes frustrations, especially when the DB is down until the additional space is formatted.
When an INCREASE failed and a DECREASE was needed to be executed to "rollback", it took a while to calculate the exact blocks needed to undo the INCREASE precisely.
Bottom line, make the DECREASE function in the same way as the INCREASE - specifically using multiple data size types.
